Art of Socks
Socks are one of the world's most basic necessities. And as legwork aesthetes, we are dedicated to the artistry of transforming these apparent basics into pieces of exception. The "Art of Socks" is a tribute to our affinity for premium craftsmanship, unsurpassed design and a healthy dose of high-end flair. We see socks as bespoke offerings that favor quality over quantity and singularity over convention. In other words, we've elevated the craftsmanship of sock making to an artform. Single-minded, perhaps, then again considering that our pieces have attracted instant loyalists from the high to the humble after just one fitting, why not? Call us sock arbiters if you will - "the quiet authority on exceptional dressings for your feet."
Speaking of socks, our wordlist aesthetic, accented by hints of British dandyism, classic Americana and Italian tailoring with Japanese details defines each of our collections. Favoring stylish understatement with a classic edge, each creation is a prized array of heel-to-toe must-haves in a range of colors and cuts that are made first and foremost with elegance and wearability in mind. Our palette of luxury yarns, including alpaca, cashmere, merino and wool-silk blends, as well as the classic royal combed and gassed mercerized cottons from Filpucci, Filartex and Filmar, are all you'll need to keep your feet well-heeled for any occasion.
"An allegiance to well-heeled tradition
with a sophisticated, modern flair."
Luxuriously comfortable, aesthetically sophisticated and artisanally crafted from the finest quality yarns,
our socks are made in family-owned Italian factories, and combine a hands-on approach with high tech precision. Our sock 'process' is an intriguing and multi-tiered one that is carefully monitored by a team of discerning sockwear specialists, much in the vein of technicians at a laboratory.

It all starts with a seasonal color palette and yarn selection. From there, patterns and textures are blended, spun, cast into final designs and submitted to our lab. After being knitted on state-of-the-art Lonati machines from 96 up to 240 needle counts, each pair of socks undergoes an initial quality check.

The socks are then seamed at the toe, a separate process that acts as an elegant closing note, mounted on metal forms and steamed to remove any wrinkles or impurities.

After being checked once more for size and fit, they
"Never obvious but always distinctive
we've created sophisticated,
aspirational sockwear to assure that
your basics are always first in class."
are handed over to the 'finishing process.' Silk paper inserts and labels bearing style specifications are added and the socks are finally bundled into custom-made boxes, a kind of baptismal passage just prior to being delivered to your feet.

To showcase this process and our promise to keeping your feet covered and coveted from season to season, we've put together a short documentary detailing our sock-making experience that you are invited to preview on Artofsocks.com.
